What You’ll Do

 

We are looking for an operational leader to manage all part-time staff during our weekly scheduled activities, as well as perform routine equipment maintenance and handle gametime logistics issues. This position is 100% "in the field" during non-business hours. Our ideal candidate will embrace the unexpected and be ready to communicate quickly and efficiently to keep games and programs running smoothly, understanding that generous communication builds trust and respect. The Field Marshal will work closely with our Operations Team, and should be able to attend at least one weekday afternoon staff meeting per month.

Responsibilities

 

People Management

 

  • Train and inspire new Field Managers
  • Supervise and support Field Managers and Referees at multiple intown fields
  • Evaluate staff performance and recommend improvements
  • Act as liaison to Operations Team for staff and player concerns at the field
  • Promote a positive atmosphere and game day enjoyment
  • Deliver daily shift report to Operations Team

 

Equipment and Scheduling

 

  • Pick up and drop off equipment to different locations
  • Perform routine maintenance on goals and other equipment
  • Assist with equipment logistics, cleanup, and collection
  • Be on call to handle weather or scheduling issues that may arise during leagues
  • Monitor SOPFC GroupMe chat and coordinate directly with field staff, Operations Team, and/or schools as needed

 

Requirements

 

  • You have at least 2 years experience managing a team of people
  • You have a drivers license and a reliable vehicle
  • You enjoy building or fixing things
  • Soccer experience is nice, but not required!

 

Hours & Schedule

 

Minimum 20 hours per week, including Mon-Thu 7:00-11:00pm, and typically a combination of either Sat 8:30am-12:30pm and/or Sun 2:30-6:30pm. Weekends have more flexibility overall - weekdays are a core schedule commitment. These hours reflect our general schedule, but hours may differ slightly depending on specific league needs, and some shifts may require working later or starting/finishing earlier.
